Neptune Rayner is a young man with some sort of reputation no matter where he goes. To the general public, they're a strange, blue haired pronouns-having boy with startlingly wide blue eyes that always hold a cool, almost disinterested calmness, with a confident demeanour that holds an almost regal quality to it. Those who run into hymn for more than a few moments can often feel this odd, uncanny aura radiating off of him, as if something great and horrifying lurks nearby, following them wherever hy goes; and it certainly doesn't help that he behaves strangely as is.
To their (now former) classmates at Hatchetfield High, hymns reputation was that of a nerdy, dorky looking boy who somehow managed to avoid the wrath of bullies and jocks due to just being oddly scary. There were plenty of rumours attached to his name, hushed gossip about cults and devil worship, but it's dubious as to whether or not their classmates ever truly believed them. Hy seemed to merely be a strange, scary guy with an intense obsession with musical theatre.
Little did they know, those rumours hold more water than they ever realized, though it wasn't the Devil Neptune worshipped. No, the god he was (and still is) devoted to is none other than the Lord in Black known by the title of the Singular Voice, Pokotho. However, their and Pokey's relationship is less god and worshipper, but instead father and son, and hymns connection to the eldritch stretches back all the way to when he was a child.
